(Washington, DC) -- Senator Ted Cruz is done talking, more than 21 hours after starting a talkathon to protest Obamacare.
The Texas Republican wants the Senate to defund the healthcare reform law as part of a broader deal to keep the government running past Monday night. Cruz said Obamacare is hurting average Americans who are "facing a stagnant economy, who are facing jobs that are drying up."
As part of Sen. Ted Cruz's anti-ObamaCare talkathon—which he has vowed to keep up until he can no longer stand—he read the Dr. Seuss classic, Green Eggs and Ham, to his daughters. "Daddy's going to be home soon, to read to you in person," he promised the girls, who were watching at home on C-SPAN.
