Mental Health Awareness Month with NAMI

May is mental health awareness month. 1 in 5 people are living with a mental health condition. That's approximately 5,600 Wheeling residents. Only 45% of adults & 51% of youth with a mental illness get treatment. The average delay between symptom onset and treatment is 11 years. 90% of people who die by suicide have experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. NAMI Greater Wheeling wants to change these statistics and part of this is raising awareness for mental health.

During the entire month of May, NAMI Greater Wheeling is partnering with local businesses to promote mental health awareness. By supporting these local businesses, you are supporting NAMI Greater Wheeling and mental health. The local businesses are:

  • Table 304
  • Bite Me Bakery
  • Sarah's on Main
  • Vagabond
  • Mugshots
  • Elm Grove Subs
  • Center Market Cafe
  • Whisk
  • Ig's Pigs BBQ Food Truck
