Meghan Markle Meets Beyonce: What Queen Bey Told The Duchess

European Premiere of Disney's "The Lion King"

Two royal couples crossed paths this weekend!

Hip-hop royalty Beyoncé and Jay-Z met real-life Royals Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle at the European premiere of The Lion King in London on Sunday (July 14), and the legendary ladies couldn't help but gush over each other.

During the face-to-face encounter, the Lemonade star, who plays the voice of Nala in Disney's upcoming live-action remake, had some pretty sweet words for Markle, who embraced the superstar with a warm hug on the red carpet.

Per a number of fan-filmed videos capturing the iconic moment, you can just about make out Beyoncé addressing the Duchess of Sussex as "My Princess." Another clip of the pair's pleasant interaction appears to show the musician, a mother of three herself, calling Markle's newborn son, Archie, "so beautiful."

In case you didn't know, the "Spirit" songbird is one of the Duchess' biggest fans. She proved this point when she gave Markle a surprise shoutout at the 2019 Brit Awards earlier this year.

In honor of the penultimate scene of their "APES--T" music video, in which Beyoncé and Jay-Z pose in front of Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa," the songstress recreated the visual while accepting the Best International Group award, but with Markle wearing a crown and pearl necklace instead.

"Thank you so much to the Brit awards for this incredible honor. You guys have always been so supportive. Everything is love. Thank you," she said via a video of the couple by the portrait.
