Kelly Clarkson received a huge honor on Monday (Sept. 19) — a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. The "Miss Independent" singer reunited with original American Idol judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson for the big day.
"This is where I won 20 years ago," she said while accepting her star. "I feel very lucky and fortunate because I know a lot of talented people that love singing and are amazing at it and writing songs, and even talk show hosts — a lot of people could do that, and I just feel very fortunate that I get the chance." She continued, "There are dreams you didn't know you had and they end up happening and you feel super blessed." Later, she made sure to shout out her Idol judges. Watch the full ceremony here.
Earlier this month, Clarkson celebrated the 20th anniversary of her life-changing American Idol win. She shared an emotional message on social media reflecting on her win and expressing her gratitude to fans and collaborators. "20 years ago today I won American Idol and it forever changed the course of my life. That moment was the door that opened up so much access and opportunity, and creative partnerships that I will be grateful for all of my days," she wrote. "The family and friendships I have created over these 20 years in music and tv are priceless to me."
