A woman on her way home from receiving a $100-thousand lottery prize stops to buy a scratch-off and wins another $300-thousand. On October 20th, a 70-year-old woman from Newark, Delaware, visited the Delaware Lottery headquarters in Dover to pick up her $100-thousand winnings from an Ultimate Cash scratch-off ticket.
On her way back home, she stopped by a convenience store and bought three Serious Money scratch-offs and one of those tickets was a $300-thousand winner. "My best friend was the first person I told about winning the $100-thousand top prize, and she came with me to claim it," the woman says. "When I scratched the $300-thousand winning Serious Money ticket later in the day, we just sat there in disbelief. It was absolute insanity."
The woman and her friend headed back to the lotto headquarters to pick up her new winnings, making her total for the day $400-thousand. She says most of the money will end up going into her retirement fund. Not surprisingly, she also says that she loves playing scratch-off tickets.
