An Arkansas restaurant is being praised for feeding a hungry homeless man. Little Rock jewelry artist Ronda Chung was in El Sur Street Food Co last week when she spotted an act of kindness and had to share. She posted on social media that she saw a homeless man come into the restaurant asking if they had any leftover food he could have, but the man at the counter did him one better.
The unnamed restaurant worker offered to buy the man’s lunch for him and asked if he wanted to hear some recommendations. Chung was impressed that the man immediately suggested a huge entree instead of some less expensive items from the menu. The worker then asked if the man wanted to dine-in or take it to go. The homeless man told him he didn’t want to be a bother, but the man wouldn’t hear it and gave him a table.
Chung was already a fan of the food at El Sur, but after seeing the kindness of the folks who work there, she couldn’t recommend the restaurant enough. “Amazing food, amazing folks,” she wrote and then added, “This is the Arkansas I want.”
