Taylor Swift is taking over NRG stadium in Houston this weekend and an animal shelter in the city has reduced the fees for cat adoption all week to $13 to celebrate. The Houston Humane Society announced that if you're looking to adopt a cat that has lived in the shelter for 30 days or more, you can do so now through April 23.
Swift ha three ktties: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button, and has shared before that 13 is her lucky number. “I was born on the 13th, I turned 13 on Friday the 13th, my first album went gold in 13 weeks.” So, the organization thought it would be a great idea to do this event during Swift's concert.
They are reducing the fee for people who adopt a cat that has lived in the shelter for 30 days or more. The HHS’s announcement read “Adopt your new LOVER this weekend, and know ALL TOO WELL how much joy & happiness they’ll bring to your life! HHS is BEJEWELED to announce our Lucky $13 Cat Adoption event to HONOR The Eras Tour Houston dates this weekend!”
But that’s not all. The stadium she’s performing at will be renamed in her honor as well. It will now be called “NRG Stadium (Taylors Version).” Judge Lina Hidalgo announced the updated in a video message littered with Swift references that fans will know “all too well.”
